Pre-School Excursions
School Excursion at Tiny Mill

A hands-on sensory learning journey
Tiny Mill offers a calm, immersive school excursion designed for young children to explore materials, process, and movement through meaningful hands-on experiences. Rooted in sensory play and guided exploration, our programme supports curiosity, independence, and joyful learning beyond the classroom.
What children will experience
🌾 Sensory Play
Children explore our signature flour sensory play or a selection of seasonal sensory materials through open-ended play. They are also introduced to the stone mill, where they experience the process of grinding grains and discover how flour is made through hands-on exploration.
🍜 Dough Play
Children mix, knead, roll, and shape dough using a variety of tools. This open-ended activity encourages creativity, fine motor development, and independent exploration.
🎨 Colour Play
Children freely explore colours through painting and process art. With different materials and creative invitations, they are encouraged to experiment, express themselves, and enjoy the process rather than focusing on the final outcome.
Learning outcomes
- Sensory integration through touch, movement, and resistance
- Understanding of simple processes (cause & effect)
